In this issue is the first appearance of the mutant named Shriek! Also, this historic issue is the first comic that kicks off the Maximum Carnage Story Arc!
We learn that Cletus Kasady's Carnage Symbiote is awoken while at the Ravencroft Institute and several doctors and security guard are killed in his escape. This comic reveals that Shriek and Carnage are couple. Cletus tells Shriek some of his origin and about how Eddie Brock left some of his Venom Symbiote behind which allowed him to then become Carnage.
Also in this issue: Peter Parker and several of his friends and family attend the funeral of Harry Osborn.
